SCBA Usage

Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)

A self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) is a device worn to provide an autonomous supply of breathable gas in an atmosphere that is immediately dangerous to life or health. It is usually used as an industrial breathing set in confined areas where there might be exposure to toxic gases or fumes or in a fire fighting situation. It is part of the SCDF CERT equipment and should be maintained in a ready to use condition.
