When wood is exposed outdoor, it is vulnerable to the effects of the weather, moisture, wood decay and insect attacks. You can protect your wood and extend the service life and help maintain its natural appearance by 2 different methods.
1) Brushing On Wood Preservative Solution
2) Tanalith CCA Preservation Pressure Treatment
In the first method, wood preservative solutions is brushed onto the wood surface itself. The wood preservative solution will penetrate into the wood and act as a protective layer against decay and insect attacks. This method is a manual process. The advantage of such method is that it requires an easy setup, only the brush and wood preservative solution is needed. The disadvantage is that the application might not be uniform and not penetrate well deep into the timber or wood, causing weak points whereby insects can attack on.
In the second method, the wood and timber is impregnated with the wood preservative chemical solution under vacuum and high pressure conditions to give the products a long lasting protection. This method requires a vacuum pressure tank. The advantage of this method is that the solution will penetrate deep into the wood and giving protection uniformly throughout it. Below is a video of how the process take place.
