Rapid Submerged Arc Welding (Nippon Steel Welding)

RAPID SURMERGED ARC WELDING FOR S355 PLATES

- High Heat Input Yet Good Impact Properties

- Weld Fast, High Speed High Current, 30% Faster

Nippon Steel Welding & Engineering (NSWE) has a submerged arc wire and flux combination that produces weld metal having excellent impact value and good weldability even in high input welding condition.

Heat input between 30 – 100 KJ/cm

NB-55E (Flux) x Y-D (Wire) (AWS A5.17 F7A8- EH14)

With the above combination, welding can be carried out at high speed and high current settings giving more than 30% time savings!

Case Study

A testing comparison is carried out on a 25mm thick plate. Using the rapid SAW combination from NSWE, the welding can be done with 4-5 passes as compared to the usual standard SAW welding which needs about 7 passes.

As you can see from above, the arc time required using Nippon Steel Rapid SAW Consumables is 30% lesser. As lesser welding runs is needed, actual time savings will be more than 30% when considering the setup time needed for each run. Even with the high heat input when using the Nippon Steel Rapid SAW Consumables, the impact properties of the weld metal is not compromised. Numerous testing has been carried out by Nippon Steel to ensure the quality of their products. Do contact us for the detailed testing reports and results.
